We are proud to announce that we are now a Carbon Neutral. We aim for our Carbon Footprint to be zero by 2040. Becoming a Carbon Neutral company is the next step into the future and we are delighted we can take action to help the climate.
We have been able to achieve this by offsetting and supporting projects in renewable energy. The project we have decided to support and fund is the Cecic HKE Zhangbei Lvnaobao Wind Power Project which is located in the Zhangei County, northwest region of Hebei Province, China. Electricity in this region is predominantely fed from fossil fuel fired power plants, especially coal fired plants. By replacing equal amounts of electricity which is originally generated by fossil fuel fired power plants in the system with almost zero emissions it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the saved fossil fuel combustion. This project is predicted to reduce the emissions by approximately 254,960 tCO2 annually.
Henderson & Taylor would like to say a massive thank you to Carbon Footprint Ltd for the guidance of how we can work towards reducing our carbon footprint and for analysing where we can reduce our emissions as a company. They provided all of the necessary expert advise on not only becoming carbon neutral for now but for the future too.
There are various ways in which we are reducing carbon emissions such as:
Reducing, recycling and reusing materials where it is possible
Switching to hybrid/fully electrical company cars and fleet vehicles
Switching from diesel to biodiesel
Changing from office meetings to online meetings where possible
Using public transport or car share for business trips where necessary
Influencing employees to work from home where possible to reduce on energy use
